"I find freedom playing soccer" - Sebastian Gardner

The late Sebastian Gardner was an exemplary example of a how to live life with strength, dignity and grace.

During his school years Seb was a North Okanagan Youth Soccer player. His soccer talent was evident when he was very young and his love for the game ran deep, always giving so much on and off the field. This was also how he lived his life.

Seb went on to play for Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops where he went to school for a degree in Social work. Upon graduation he was hired as a social worker for the Kamloops Ministry of Children and Family development. He loved his work and from the stories told he made a difference in the lives of the youth he worked with.

This program has been set up to honor Seb’s passion for soccer and his boundless energy for helping make the world a better place for kids.

This year with the donations that were received, 33 kids who otherwise wouldn’t have the means, were outfitted so that they could play soccer. Next year we are hoping that amount can be doubled

Giving back to the community that has given so much to us is fundamental to how we pave the way for the next generation.  As leaders in the financial services industry, we look not only at our own interests but also the interests of others; we have a role to play in helping those who need it most and solving important problems.

We support organizations and collaborations that create positive long-term changes that expand opportunities for development, empower those in the developing world, and support the communities in which we live, work and play.

Educating Our Next Generation

Education has the power to change the world.  We see the value of investing in young people, as they are tomorrow’s leaders.

We are longtime supporters of Brentwood College and UNBC.

Creating Opportunities For Others

For some, an opportunity for development is all one needs to break a vicious cycle. For others an opportunity means a second shot at life after illness.

Miles and the Tycuda Group are long-time supporters of the Canadian Cancer Society. In 2014, the Tycuda Group co-hosted the Abbotsford Spring Business Gala for the Canadian Cancer Society, raising $16,000++

Fundraising For A Better Future

The time we donate and money we raise helps increase awareness for our selected charities and gives others opportunities many of us take for granted on a daily basis. We feel strongly that if we band together for a good cause great things can happen.

Years ago, I was a firefighter. Giving back to family and community has always been a large part of my life, and service to others has always been a value that I hold close.
